Four mallard chicks hanging out on a log, drying off after their swim in the water. I watched this little family all spring, they started off with five chicks and sadly at the time of this photo they were down to four. Eventually there were only two left, so I’m glad I have photos of them all together like this. Baby ducks are easy pickings for the huge turtles that live there, momma did well to raise two to maturity.
